Feb 10: Saint Scholastica

cassiemeadows

Saint Scholastica was a twin and her brother is Saint Benedict. They both had similar ideas- to join the religious life and start communities. And they did just that. They would meet up every once and a while to discuss all about their spiritual lives. When Scholastica was near the end of her life, she wanted her brother to stay with her overnight to pray. She knew she was close to dying. But Benedict didn’t want to break the rules (he had made) of his monastery so he said no. She prayed to God to let him stay. And sure enough, the weather was too bad for him to return to his monastery for the night. A few days later, after Benedict returned, he was praying and saw his sisters soul rise to Heaven.

I have a special connection to Saint Scholastica and Saint Benedict. Because when I was pregnant with my twins, our friends (my kids God parents) bought me the metals of both of the saints. They gave me Benedict but St Scholastica’s metal took a while to get in the mail and they forgot about it. But finally, last month, they brought it to me! My twin are 4 years old and I can testify that just like Scholastica and Benedict, they have that special intuition about each other.

Saint Scholastica in the diffuser:

4 drops Orange

4 drops Lemon

Those oils are my twins favorites!
