Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys was born in France. She felt called to religious life and applied but was not accepted. Later on, she met the Governor of a French settlement in Cananda. He asked her to come there to start a school. She came back to French twice to get more workers for her school for Indian children. The group of women later established the Congregation of Notre Dame and they had to wait almost 20 years for that to be approved. In Montreal she established another school for Indian girls so the bishop asked her to start another in Quebec so she walked from Montreal to Quebec to follow the orders. She was persistent in her desire to serve God, even when it seemed like it wasn’t going according to plan.
I love this story. I can't tell you how many times I want to quit when things don't go the way I plan. But she just waits for God's plan.
