March 17th: Saint Patrick

Saint Patrick was a missionary and bishop of Ireland in the 5th century. At 16 years old Patrick was taken by pirates and served as a slave for 6 years before escaping and returning to his family. He would eventually become a cleric and move on to be bishop of Ireland where he is credited with founding christianity by converting the society away from polytheism. His supposed date of his death is March 17th, a date which is celebrated both inside and outside of Ireland as a holiday.

An interesting point regarding Saint Patrick's popularity - he lived before the formal canonization process in a time when Saints were declared so by local Church authorities. Saint Patrick was so reknown a saint that he was never moved through the formal process - he has never been formally canonized!

Saint Patrick in the diffuser:

4 drops of Abundance

Luck of the Irish? I don’t think so, Saint Patrick made God’s love in Ireland abundant. His heart was also abundantly full of Christ all of the time. Saint Patrick, pray for us!

Christ with me,

Christ before me,

Christ behind me,

Christ in me,

Christ beneath me,

Christ above me,

Christ on my right,

Christ on my left,

Christ when I lie down,

Christ when I sit down,

Christ when I arise,

Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,

Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,

Christ in every eye that sees me,

Christ in every ear that hears me.
